Business package insurance, tailored to how you operate
A business package combines the covers most small and medium businesses need into a single policy, with one renewal date and one point of contact. You choose the sections that fit your business, so you're not paying for cover you don't need or missing protection you do. We build business packages for shops, offices, workshops, warehouses and service businesses across Australia.
Who needs business package insurance?
- Retail stores, cafés and restaurants
- Offices and professional practices
- Workshops, small manufacturers and warehouses
- Service businesses with stock, equipment or premises
- Business owners who want simpler admin and a single renewal
What business package insurance can cover
Every policy is different. Depending on the insurer and options you choose, cover can include:
- Building and contents (fire and defined events, or accidental damage)
- Business interruption for lost income and extra costs after an insured event
- Theft and burglary, including damage from forced entry
- Money, glass, and general property (portable items like laptops and tools)
- Electronic equipment and machinery breakdown
- Public and products liability, plus optional tax audit and employee dishonesty
What to check before you buy
The most common gap we see is underinsurance: building sums insured that haven't kept pace with rebuild costs, or business interruption periods too short for a realistic recovery. We'll review your sums insured, your indemnity period and whether accidental damage cover is worth it for your situation. If your assets grow significantly, an industrial special risks policy may become better value.
Why arrange business package insurance through a broker?
Policies that look similar on price can differ a great deal in what they actually pay for. As your broker, we act on your behalf. We’ll ask the right questions, compare options, explain the fine print in plain language and be there to support you if you need to make a claim, wherever you are in Australia.
Business Package Insurance: common questions
What is a business package policy?
It's a bundle of insurance sections, such as property, theft, business interruption and liability, sold under one policy. You select the sections relevant to your business and set a sum insured for each.
Is a business package cheaper than separate policies?
Often it is, and it's simpler to manage. However, it's not always the case, so we compare a package against standalone policies where that makes sense.
What is business interruption insurance?
It covers the loss of gross profit and increased costs of working when an insured event, like a fire or storm, stops or slows your trading. It helps you pay ongoing expenses while you recover.
Do I need a business package if I work from home?
Home and contents policies usually exclude or limit business equipment and business liability. A business package or targeted covers can fill those gaps.
Can I change my business package during the year?
Yes. You can usually add or remove sections and adjust sums insured mid-term, with the premium adjusted for the remaining period. Let us know when you buy significant equipment, increase stock, move premises or change what your business does, so your cover keeps up.
What’s the difference between replacement value and indemnity value?
Replacement value pays what it costs to replace damaged property with new items of a similar type, while indemnity value allows for wear and depreciation, so you receive less for older items. Many package policies offer replacement cover for buildings and contents, but it’s worth confirming which basis applies to each section.
How to get a business package insurance quote
Getting a quote is simple, and there is no obligation. Call Carly on 0497 100 469 or send an email with your business name and ABN, a short description of what you do, your approximate turnover and number of staff, a copy of your current policy schedule if you have one, and details of any claims in the last five years.
If your contracts or lease set specific insurance requirements, send those too.
We will ask a few questions about your operations, approach suitable insurers on your behalf and come back with options explained in plain language, including what is and isn’t covered. Once you choose, we arrange your cover and send your documents, then review it with you at every renewal so your insurance keeps pace with your business.
